Summer of Service (SOS) is an opportunity for families to put their values into action while developing empathy and learning about another culture. SOS provides elementary-aged kids a relatable way to help reach an attainable goal.
In the past, SOS Kids have done... movie night, talent shows, Kid Olympics, pool parties, bake sales, lemonade stands, tea parties, babysitting and more. The possibilities are endless.
When you register, your children can get an SOS t-shirt, planning materials, and some cool swag from The Lunch Project (free!).
Empower you kid(s) to become an Empathy Superhero/Social Entrepreneur this summer!!

Mission Statement
We empower communities to change their world by supporting school lunch programs in Tanzania and inspiring service in all children.
Description
Founded in 2011, The Lunch Project (TLP) is a Charlotte-based 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities by supporting school lunch programs in Tanzania, teaching empathy education and inspiring service in all children.
Internationally, this organization provides students with the fuel to learn while stimulating economies through locally-sources goods and services. Stateside, the goal is global empathy education that provides a highly-visual demonstration of the impact individual actions can make around the world.
TLP is now enabling a community-led, locally sourced lunch program 5 days a week to over 1800 primary school students at two public primary schools in Tanzania, and still growing.
What began as a simple idea has captured the hearts and minds of many, both in the Charlotte region and abroad.
