Volunteer Reston is seeking a volunteer copy editor with professional editorial experience to proofread Reston Association’s quarterly magazine. This volunteer position plays a key role in shaping Reston magazine and can be done remotely. The magazine is RA’s signature publication.
We are seeking an editor with professional experience who is proficient in Association Press Style, attentive to details and deadlines, and is a strong writer.
The copy editor will review feature articles, event listings, and other text using Microsoft Word. Generally, the copy editor has about a week to review and revise the first draft of the magazine.
Reston magazine has a circulation of 21,000 and is distributed in print and digitally to RA members. The copy editor is credited in each issue, so this is a great opportunity to bolster your portfolio and resume.
