Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program is hiring for a full-time yearlong AmeriCorps VISTA position. VISTA stands for Volunteers In Service To America and is an AmeriCorps program that places members in organizations throughout the country that combat poverty. This position exists under Hunger Free America's national Anti-Hunger and Opportunity Corps (AHOC).
AHOC VISTA members focus on fighting hunger by enhancing the capacity of existing organizations, recruiting volunteers, and improving access to federal nutrition programs (primarily SNAP). This opportunity is designed for self-motivated and organized individuals that can commit to a full year of service. A small living stipend along with some benefits are attached to the position to help cover basic expenses.
