The Garden is filled with many rare and endangered plants and trees that do not naturally occur anywhere else in the world. Help us to keep the garden beautiful and healthy, become a Friend of the Point Loma Native Plant Garden.


Is your club, group, organization, or business looking for a volunteer opportunity? The San Diego River Park Foundation has options throughout San Diego to fit your team!

We offer group custom private volunteer events for groups of all sizes. These are great opportunities for your group to get outside, enjoy nature, give back and work together. All tasks will help to protect native habitat and beautify local green spaces. The San Diego River Park Foundation provides all supplies, leadership, and any onsite training.

Available activities:

  • restore endangered coastal dune habitat
  • remove trash from the Sam Diego River
  • take care of a native plant garden
  • restore habitat at a stream side preserve in the mountains
  • build and maintain trails
  • special projects
  • and more!
