ORGANIZATION: Arizona Care Hospice

Volunteers are needed for visitation, companionship, and socialization with patients, in their residence, at the end of life. May include assistance with errands, letter writting, reading, and engaging patients in activities of intrest. May provide respite, sitting with patient while family or caregiver runs errands. Requires coordination with the hospice team and communication, documentaion of activities performed and time with patient. Patients could be anywhere in the Phoenix Metro area. We will strive to assign volunteers to patients near the volunteers home. Extensive orientaion and training is required by Medicare rules, but can be self study at your own pace. If you have a little time to give You can make a huge difference in the quality of life of someone at the end of life.

Volunteers may also assist in office support tasks.
