YMCA mentors

Come join us. A mentor is a role model, volunteer, and one who makes life a little easier for the child. Can you be a good listener? You will be surprised that it's a joy to help children. Be a mentor. Reach and Rise mentoring supports youth ages 8 to 17 who lack role models. You just need to be yourself to be a good mentor. With a positive attitude and just by being you, you can help a child. Some children just need a buddy. We have a great program that help a variety of children. A few young people are in communities challenged by poverty, crime and single-parent households, among other social issues. You can change a life. As a one-on-one mentor, you can provide a positive and consistent relationship with a young person, helping to improve your mentee's self-esteem, decision-making skills, and interpersonal relationships. This is a volunteer position to help youth. The program recommends a 1-3 hour(s) per week meeting with a young person in Pike County.
We hope to change children's lives with mentoring, support and guidance.
We are offering free mentor training. Contact us for dates.

Please contact us to find out how to help a child. This mentoring program is for volunteers that are at least 23 years old. It's not a paid position.
