While the position doesn't directly fall under the coaching staff, it essentially is a branch of the coaching staff and is often hired directly by the head basketball coach. The director of basketball operations is responsible for the daily assistance of the program (basketball team) for which they work. The description is vague in nature because of the various responsibilities that can and do fall under the director of basketball operations authority. Most listings for the job will include assisting in scheduling, travel, camp planning and programming, marketing and sponsor finding and community service.

Congratulations to us! After careful review, and with a recommendation from Staples associate Rodger Stephens, Girls Empowered Mentored & Supported has been awarded funding from the Staples Foundation in support of our commitment to improving the local community aligns with Staples' goal of enriching the areas where our associates and customers live and work.
G.E.M.S. will focus primarily on middle and high school youths; it is projected that within three years, 50% of the system’s students will be in middle school. This age group is particularly problematic and a perfect time for mentoring to be effective. The focus is slightly different at each level but the goal remains the same, empower girls to make positive changes in their lives.
