Volunteer at Camp Courage winter camp! True Friends has a 50+ year history of providing high quality camping programs to children and adults of all abilities. Camp Adventure is a camp for youth with ADD/ADHD/FASD/EBD and high functioning autism to have fun, meet new friends, and grow in their understanding of self and others - December 27-31, 2017 at Camp Courage in Maple Lake, MN.
Your job is pretty simple as a volunteer - HAVE FUN! Volunteering at camp is a great way for you to give back to the community while gaining valuable experience working with the population in a recreational environment. Your service brings our mission to life every day for the amazing individuals who come to camp.
Winter camp activities include: dog-sledding, frozen zip-lining, sledding, snowball forts, bouncy house, Archery Tag, and more!
- Volunteers ages 18+ work with staff supporting campers in various camp activities; volunteers do not provide direct care to campers.
- Volunteers should have previous experience working with/interacting with kids who have ADD/ADHD, EBD, FASD, ASD.
- Meals and housing are provided at no cost separate from camper/counselor cabins.
- Students can earn 65 service learning hours for practicum and field experience requirements.
*This is a residential volunteer opportunity - volunteers stay on-site for the week.*

Description
True Friends provides life changing opportunities for youth and adults with disabilities and high medical needs to reach their true potential. Through camp, respite, travel and other program opportunities, participants learn new skills and build their feelings of self-worth. Staff provide care, encouragement, supervision and learning opportunities to participants.
