Time Commitment
Varies depending on the BMCC program or event you select, most opportunities can be fulfilled from home and do not require you to come to our Campus.
Current opportunities are:
- Fundraising for Our Youth Summer Camp
- Fundraising for in-kind donations from corporations (mostly complete online submissions)
- Dropping off letters to local businesses and then picking up the donated items
Benefits and Recognition
This position provides valuable experience for fundraising execution and event planning students; individuals with an interest in gaining experience in the non-profit sector or in the environmental field; and anyone with a passion for activities for underprivileged youth. Volunteers are highly valued members of the BMCC fundraising team and contribute to making a significant difference in collecting funds to run our youth programs. BMCC will provide reference letters for all volunteers who successfully complete a placement.
General Expectations / Volunteer Role
- Develop and maintain media contact lists.
- Recruit sponsors, participants, or volunteers for fundraising events.
- Direct or supervise fundraising staff, including volunteer staff members.
- Secure commitments of participation or donation from individuals or corporate donors.
- Prepare materials for charitable events, such as fundraising envelopes, bid sheets, gift bags, etc.
