Mission Statement

The P.R.Y.D.E. Mentoring Academy, like other programs, is realistic in our goals, we understand that we cannot save all At-Risk youths; we can only try to save the ones that are drawn to our programs because what we are offering resonates within their hearts, just as other unique programs have At-Risk youths drawn to them because of what they are offering. We partnered with like-minded organizations and programs to create a unique combined program that offers Mentoring and Career Goals in conjunction with Music, Performing Arts, Athletics, Sports, Culinary, Healthcare Training and a junior Military program under one umbrella, "P.R.Y.D.E.". Though this is our Mission Statement, it is not our Mission, it is our Responsibility.

Description

PRYDE Mentoring Academy (PMA) would serve as liaisons between the juvenile justice system, and At-Risk Youths to encourage them to become positive students in their surrounding school systems. The PRYDE Mentoring Academy Program will use our outreach in such a way to introduce youths to a variety of educational and training programs re-enforced by empowerment and self-esteem mentoring. This program is expected to increase youth awareness of available opportunities to build confidence and self-awareness of accomplishment while giving youths a meaningful experience of team work and pride. Through our program will can strengthen the groundwork of their ability to succeed in life, starting with graduating and making the next step of continuing education or entering into the work force.

Programs will run 3 months, 6 months and 12 months, youths are encouraged to participate in the training and educational programs that are available such as:

  • Self-Motivational Mentoring, Career Advancement Tutoring, (GED classes, College Prep)
  • Music Entertainment (engineering, production, entertainment law, music lessons)
