Marketing Manager
Position: Marketing Manager
Reports To: Executive Director
Role:
The Marketing Manager is a results oriented communications professional responsible for developing, implementing, assessing, and refining marketing communications for Summer of Service (SOS). The overall goal is to increase awareness of SOS in the community and to engage volunteers, donors, partner agencies, and community members year-round. The Marketing Manager is responsible for the general oversight of SOS’s marketing strategy to include print and digital marketing material development, communication strategies.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Develop messaging and communications to clearly convey the SOS story and impact work.
Draft and manage the monthly SOS Newsletter (gather content and input from staff, compile, arrange and publish newsletter on the 1st of every month.)
Write communications on the organization’s mission and success in community in the impact areas of education, community service and travel abroad.
Produce marketing communication collateral that highlight objectives, successes, and connection to organizational goals. Develops processes and systems to ensure the information is accurate and agreed upon by the Executive Director.
Work with SOS staff to maintain and increase volunteer and media participation.
Obtain, write and format success stories from donors, recipients, volunteers, and agencies.
Create messaging for campaign volunteers and train speakers on key message points.
Assist the Executive Director on campaign calls and presentations as needed.
Builds positive external relationships with community members, volunteers, agency partners, and donor groups.
Works with Social Media Manager to increase SOS’s on-line presence.

Students of Service (SOS) is dedicated to education through service and travel by providing students with the opportunity to learn abroad in order to better their own communities and serve back home.
Description
SOS is working to strengthen and deepen student’s understanding and knowledge of the world. To do this students ranging from 6th-12th grades, from different walks of life will form a core group. The group will meet with the SOS leader who will guide them through service projects, team-building and leadership exercises, cross-cultural understanding, and conflict resolution skills, and practical training on travel and safety abroad. These experiences tie in with what kids are learning in the classroom. All of this culminates with an educational trip abroad in the summer that inspires students to come home and bring more positive change to our community.
