Proyecto CocoMango is a grassroots community organization in beautiful Laguna de Apoyo - a volcanic crater lake located 30 minutes from the cities of Granada and Masaya. Our mission is to expand educational and artistic opportunities, protect the environment, and develop social and economic resources for Laguna de Apoyo, Nicaragua, and neighboring communities.

CocoMango is always looking for energetic, independent and creative volunteers to assist us with our current programs and help develop new ideas! As a small team, we truly value our volunteers and their contributions. Volunteer opportunities include:

• Teaching English at the local primary school
• After school program: helping kids with homework, leading fun English sessions, and/or planning art, environmental and sports activities
• Fundraising
• Teaching adult English classes
• Teaching 1-on-1 adult Spanish literacy classes
• Helping with social media / website updates

Role Requirements:

Whether your passion is teaching, dancing, theater, athletics, gardening, general maintenance, building, music, drawing, cooking, or nutrition, we could use your assistance and helping hands. However, we do recommend:

• Intermediate English
• Conversational Spanish
• Minimum 1-month commitment
• Independant, flexible, outgoing and creative

Food and Lodgement:

Lodging is available at our volunteer house, located near the Laguna! Room, meals (with open access to the kitchen) and filtered water, are provided for $90 / week.

*Discounts offered for long term volunteers (6 months or longer)
