About

ROOTS Young Adult Shelter is an emergency homeless shelter serving 18-25 year olds in Seattle's U-District. We are Washington's largest youth shelter and serve 45 young adults each night, 365 days per year.

At ROOTS, we use every day to make a difference in the lives of homeless youth. We offer flexible hours, a variety of different shifts, and an array of professional and social justice oriented trainings to prepare volunteers for a positive experience. Volunteering at ROOTS Young Adult Shelter can become a life-changing experience! June 7th is our next bimonthly orientation for new volunteers. The time will be used to get an overview of our shelter space and the work we do. This event it just the beginning of a long commitment.

You can find our application at http://www.rootsinfo.org/get-involved/volunteer/volunteer-application/. You must fill out an application before you attend this event in order to have all of the necessary information you need. The doors will not be open to you without filling out the application. If spots fill too quickly you will be assigned another orientation date through the application.
