Volunteering with the opportunity to learn - Stillwater - Oakdale - Woodbury - Cottage Grove

ORGANIZATION: FamilyMeans

Volunteering is great in it self as it helps your mental health, physical health, improves your community. Another benefit from volunteering with FamilyMeans is education as all our volunteers are given a 90 minute orientation to equip them for their new volunteer role, but then are also offered monthly training sessions to learn about aging, disabilities, keeping your mind active, and many more topics.

If you have 2,3 or 4 hours 2-4 times a month to share we need you. Men, women, couples, pairs and families are needed to help a caregiver get a much needed break. We have needs for children, teens and seniors who are not able to be left alone, so that their caregiver can get a break. Volunteers do not provide any medical cares, personal cares or home chores. It's a time for companionship and supervision. Play a game, take a walk, watch TV together, read, converse, do a craft, hang out in the garage, go for a ride, share a hobby.
