Please help us remove trash and other debris from the creeks in downtown Walnut Creek. This is always a fun community event. We're celebrating our 30th year!

You'll get to see beautiful sections of the creek that are usually off limits, and maybe even wade in the creek. Many hands make light work!

There will also be a crew doing preparation for sheet mulching at our creek bank restoration site.

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST REGISTER IN ADVANCE AT

All the information you need is at this site, including the exact address of the event, what to wear, required waiver form, etc.

Minimum age 7. Children under 12 must be accompanied by adult.

Wear old clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty or wet. Long pants and sleeves recommended. No sandals. Bring gloves.

Friends of the Creeks is a nonprofit, all-volunteer group dedicated to enhancing the health and beauty of creeks flowing through the city of Walnut Creek.

Description

Friends of the Creeks main volunteer-related activities are habitat restoration and creek cleanups. We also advocate for the creeks when new policies or developments are proposed that would affect them.

We are also looking for returning volunteers to tend the pollinator garden in Civic Park. Contact us to learn more about this opportunity.

A couple of times a year we offer an evening program or an interpretive walk.
