POSITION: Development Intern

START DATE: Flexible. Minimum of 2 month commitment from start date.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The primary responsibility will be to assist the Development Team with strategic outreach, recruitment and event logistics . This is a great position for someone interested in building professional skills, fundraising events and learning about the non-profit sector. The primary responsibility is to support the administrative, logistical, and planning functions of our special events. The intern will join the special events team in producing the LUNG FORCE Walk (OC: November 4, 2017 and LA: November 19, 2017).
Responsibilities include: recruitment and outreach, research, volunteer management, data management, coordinate mail campaigns, and health fairs/community event participation. Other projects supporting different functions may be assigned.
This position is unpaid. School internship requirements of hour can be provided.
WORK SCHEDULE: Mostly weekdays, occasional weekend opportunities, hours are flexible, minimum of 12 hours per week for duration of internship. Must be committed to coming into the office at 513 E. 1st Street, Suite B Tustin, CA
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be a non-smoker
2. Bachelor’s degree preferred, but exceptional undergraduate students/candidates encouraged to apply
3. Interest in non-profit event planning, volunteer management, and donor solicitation preferred.
4. Excellent customer service; friendly, outgoing and not afraid to make cold calls
5. Attention to detail and great communication skills
6. Ability to work on projects independently and works well with others
7. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
8. Strong computer and customer service skills
9. Able to communicate clearly in English (bilingual skills useful)
10. Access to a car is preferred.
