Mentor

Are you looking for the chance to help others in the Mountain View community gain the skills they need to be hired by local businesses? The Job Lab at the Mountain View Public Library is seeking volunteers once a week every Tuesday from 2-5 PM. The Job Lab provides vital employment services for patrons and members of the Mountain View community. These services include peer-to-peer career counseling, computer assistance, resume writing and editing, job search assistance, and mock interviews. Even if you aren’t knowledgeable in every area, we could still use your help as most patrons need fairly basic assistance. As you volunteer with us, you’ll gain more knowledge about the job search process yourself. Not only will you learn valuable new skills in our ever-changing job market, you will gain the satisfaction of helping someone get the job that makes all the difference in their life. If you volunteer with us for more than two sessions, we will write a letter of recommendation that you can attach to your own resume so that you can further your own career. Our aim is to help everyone who wishes to work find employment, and that includes you!

If you have any questions, please email Sarah McBryde at mcbrydes@muni.org
