Ever wonder what it would be like to be a garden gnome?? This is your chance to find out!
WHAT: Creating an outdoor classroom, involving a whimsical, charming hobbit hole, gardening, and building a puppet stage! The goal is to make it an imaginative playscape for children at BackYard Players & Friends , a nonprofit, arts-based community program for teens and young adults. Kids will also be able to make sock and popsicle stick puppets that can be used for all the puppet shows to come.
WHERE: Behind St. Mark's Methodist Church (in the playground)
WHEN: Sunday, May 21st from Noon- 4PM
WHO: At least 20 volunteers of all ages! (Kids welcome)
DON'T FORGET: * Wear comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty. * If you have a hand-held garden shovel at home, please bring it since we're a little short on these items. * Other necessary supplies will be provided as well as lunch.

Mission Statement
Because I said I would is an international social movement and nonprofit dedicated to the betterment of humanity through promises made and kept. Our Long Island chapter seeks to end suffering, establish peace and build happiness through local volunteer projects. As we help build a stronger community, our members also look to improve as individuals through our personal promises and thought-provoking learning opportunities.
Description
Because I said I would Long Island is a force for good in our community . Our members hold a meeting each month to plan unified charitable promises, act as an accountability support group for individual promises and to learn new and interesting ways to get better with commitment. After planning our unified charitable promises, we execute these projects in a separate gathering every month or every two months.
