Get your steps in while shelving books! Volunteering is a great way to exercise while providing a valuable service to the Library. We do great things every day at the Lancaster Public Library-but we can’t do any of those things without the time and effort provided by our generous volunteers!

With its vast collection of books, DVDs, and audiobooks, the Lancaster City Branch is in need of detail-oriented volunteers to assist in restocking new and returned material. The ideal shelver has knowledge of the alphabet and decimals, has ability to organize materials, and the ability to lift, reach high & low shelves, and is accurate and organized.

We have a specific opening on Thursday mornings, but we're ALWAYS looking for new shelvers because they are valuable assets to our library.
