Families for Depression Awareness (FFDA), www.familyaware.org, is a nonprofit organization looking for new members of our Board of Directors who have a passion for mental health awareness and suicide prevention. Board members are FFDA's ambassadors, connecting the organization with potential program partners, volunteers, and donors. We are currently recruiting members with an HR or legal background, or with grants or event planning experience. Caregivers of people with a mood disorder, people affected by suicide, people with lived experience with depression or bipolar disorder, and people who can add to the diversity of our Board are encouraged to apply. If you are interested, please contact us with a resume and cover letter at info@familyaware.org.

Mission Statement

Families for Depression Awareness helps families recognize and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides. We offer education, training, and support to unite families and help them heal while coping with mood disorders.

Families for Depression Awareness continues to be the premier national organization specializing in practical education and action-based training for family caregivers whose loved ones are dealing with a mood disorder. Our mission is to help families recognize, address, and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides. Through nationwide webinars, online tools, publications, and in-person workshops in Massachusetts we provide up-to-date and relevant education, training, and support that specifically meet the needs of families. Our programs aid participants in recognizing depression in themselves and others and getting help so that no one suffers alone with untreated depression.
