Families for Depression Awareness (FFDA), a mental health and suicide prevention nonprofit organization online at www.familyaware.org, is looking for motivated, mission-driven leaders to join our Board of Directors. Board members are vital to our success! Our Board members share a passion for supporting families affected by depression or bipolar disorder, eliminating the stigma of mental health conditions, and preventing suicides. The Board meets via Zoom 6 times per year and celebrates in person at our annual Evening of Hope and Discovery. You'll put your expertise and talents to work on one of our committees (Finance, Fundraising and Event, Governance, and Marketing) and you'll be an FFDA ambassador, connecting the organization with potential program partners, volunteers, and donors. Caregivers of people with a mood disorder, people affected by suicide, and people who can add to the diversity of our Board are encouraged to apply. Use your life experience and professional expertise to help families impacted by mental health conditions and prevent suicides.
We'd love to hear from you! Please send a resume and cover letter explaining why you are interested and what you would bring to the Board to info@familyaware.org.

Description
Families for Depression Awareness continues to be the premier national organization specializing in practical education and action-based training for family caregivers whose loved ones are dealing with a mood disorder. Our mission is to help families recognize, address, and cope with depression and bipolar disorder to get people well and prevent suicides. Through nationwide webinars, online tools, publications, and in-person workshops in Massachusetts we provide up-to-date education, training, and support that specifically meet the needs of families. Our programs aid participants in recognizing depression in themselves and others and getting help so that no one suffers alone with untreated depression. In short, we help families get - and stay - on the path to mental wellness.
