ORGANIZATION: Minnesota Communities Caring for Children/Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota

The Development Committee will develop, monitor and evaluate Minnesota Communities Caring for Children (MCCC) strategic and operational fundraising plan. By identifying, nurturing and facilitating relationships, the Development Committee will effectively link community members and members of the corporate, foundation and governmental community with MCCC in meaningful ways that will ultimately lead to volunteer and financial support.

  1. Responsibilities of Development Committee

    Strategic

  1. Work with the Development staff and other committee members to reach annual development goals

  2. Provide personal support, host or attend engagement events, active involvement in identifying and asking prospective donors, make personal calls on prospective donors, and thank donors for their contributions to MCCC.

  3. Educate the greater community about the organization by being familiar with and able to articulate the components of the mission, objectives and key messages of MCCC.

  4. Provide leadership and input from a funding perspective to the creation of the development section of the strategic plan.

  1. Operational

  1. Meet with Audit & Finance Committee regarding annual budget planning and recommendations

  2. Work with the Development staff and other committee members to reach annual development goals and the goals of the three year strategic plan.

  3. Strengthen the development effort at MCCC by regularly attending Development Committee meetings, providing insights and ideas, and helping to recruit volunteers to fill needed roles

  4. Review plans, objectives and policies and makes recommendations for the Board’s approval

Description

Minnesota Communities Caring for Children (MCCC), home of Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota and Circle of Parents(c), was awarded 501(c)(3) status in 1979 with the primary goal of preventing child maltreatment in Minnesota. Over the past 37 years, through successful collaboration with communities, businesses and public and private funders, MCCC has evolved from a small organization to a statewide entity with programs available in 57 of Minnesota’s 87 counties.
