Places for People is a community-based mental health agency which has been serving residents of the Greater St Louis area for nearly 45 years.Places of People provides an unparalleled toolkit of programs, services, and resources for people who have serious mental illnesses, typically accompanied by complex and multilayered challenges: chronic homelessness, substance abuse disorder, primary health disorders, and trauma. Our mission is to provide caring, effective services to help those with the greatest challenges recover from mental illness and associated chronic illnesses.
We are currently seeking one part-time intern to assist the Development Team during Summer 2017 and are accepting applications now until the position is filled.
The intern will assist in numerous projects, including but not limited to:
- Donor engagement and fundraising.
- Advocacy around mental health awareness.
- 45 th Anniversary Photo Project.
- Social Media.
- General Development Team assistance.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Database experience and Microsoft suite proficiency.
Preferred:
- Pursuing a degree/hold a degree in marketing, communications, business management or a related field.
- Hold a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Interest in non-profit development, social media management, fundraising, and/or mental health advocacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time management skills.
Additional information:
- This is an unpaid internship opportunity.
- Intern will work approximately 15-20 hours a week; limited evenings and weekends.
