An Events Volunteer is an occasional volunteer who is willing to assist with special events organized by Soldiers’ Angels. These may include luncheons, pizza parties, BINGO events, movie nights, or other events that have been organized to boost the morale of patients at the VA hospitals. In addition, Event Volunteers may help with special events in the community such as local Stand Downs (for homeless veterans) or SA fundraising events.
Event Volunteers would be involved in all aspects of the event to include set up, clean-up, patient assistance, meal service, as well as event photos.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Attend all Soldiers’ Angels events at the VA facilities and within the local community
Work collaboratively with other volunteers and the Event Coordinator to create a fun and enriching events for veterans.
Assist with Soldiers’ Angels fundraising events (help varies depending on the event).
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to VA rules.
Abide by and support the philosophy, policy, and guidelines of Soldiers’ Angels.
Participate in training or orientation as needed.
Enthusiastic about special events and working with veterans
Organized, flexible, and willing to help as needed
Personable and have good communication skills
Willing to work as part of team to create a successful event.
