Help with seed collection while enjoying the prairie grasses and wildflowers in this beautiful prairie! Come lend a hand to help improve the habitat of this unique place. Please register at the link below to join us!

This event is led by Mississippi Park Connection and the National Park Service who will provide materials and instructions. Please wear long pants and close-toed shoes for this outdoor project. Plan on bringing a full water bottle.

Directions: In Inver Grove Heights from I-494 7 miles S on US Hwy 52, then E over 52 on 117th St, then 0.8 mile N on Courthouse Blvd (frontage road), then 0.25 mi E on 111th St. Park in lot.

Mission Statement

The Volunteers-In-Parks program, jointly managed by Mississippi National River and Recreation Area and Mississippi Park Connection, connects, educates, and promotes the enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River through unique and entertaining volunteer opportunities to the entire community.

Description

The Volunteers-In-Parks program is a joint program with Mississippi Park Connection. Mississippi National River and Recreation Area represents America's greatest river, the Mississippi, which weaves together the natural and cultural heritage and economic vitality of the region. The National Park Service works with partners to foster increased citizen awareness, advocacy, and enjoyment of the resources of the Mississippi River.

Volunteer-In-Parks provides people with opportunities to discover, experience, and enjoy the diversity of the Mississippi River while also preserving it for future generations through volunteer restoration projects and education programs.
