The YMCA of Southern Arizona is dedicated to improving the quality of human life and to helping all people realize their fullest potential. As of January 26, 2016 the Tucson/Pima Coalition to end Homelessness reported a total of 1,762 homeless people in our community. The downtown homeless population have been displaced for a variety of reasons and the YMCA recognizes the increased need for support. The Living Our Cause events were created to increase awareness and support for this community in need. The Lohse Family YMCA, in collaboration with Z Mansion, has committed to providing basic showering services and haircuts to those in need on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018.
The Y, is looking for individuals who are friendly and looking to serve their downtown community to help greet guests, give haircuts, socialize with guests and help with basic tasks during the event. We are also asking for donations of Hygiene items, reusable water bottles, blankets and clothing. Donations can be dropped off at the Lohse Family YMCA during business hours. Living Our Cause will take place at Lohse Family YMCA, 60 W. Alameda Street, Tucson, AZ 85701 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Description
We seek to impact our community through YOUTH DEVELOPMENT, HEALTHY LIVING and SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY. We focus on prevention, but we would like to expand our efforts in leadership development and character building. We seek to expand into the "health-seeker" market. Our impact in social responsibility will be demonstrated by taking leadership in the community, addressing critical needs and engaging in partnerships and advocacy.
