Apply to volunteer with IYLI for the 2017-2018 school year! Come and join our team dedicated to bringing out the amazing potential in our young people. #IYLI4LIFE! #JoinTheFam
IYLI’s Mission is to nurture a new generation of visionary leaders from the African Diaspora who, inspired by their rich African heritage, are committed to leave a legacy in the world.
IYLI provides a vehicle for helping youth to assess the factors contributing to the under-development of communities of color and for using that knowledge to respond to our challenges proactively, strategically and rationally with compassion, understanding, commitment and determination. IYLI emphasizes the connections between local and global conditions, challenges and opportunities. IYLI conducts seminars at New York University that focus on critical global issues and that provide opportunities for students to interact with professionals working in a variety of international and policy areas. IYLI also sponsors overseas academic study programs in Africa and Latin America that include intensive language study, meetings with government and non-government agencies, research projects, community service and seminars based on the IYLI curriculum.
