Cinco de Mayo
The official poster for Cinco de Mayo this year. Artwork made by local artisans.

OCCA Celebrates it's 30th Cinco de Mayo parade and festival this year. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of Mexican Heritage commemorating the victory in the battle of Puebla. General Ignacio Zaragoza was preparing for battle against the French. Zaragoza was vastly outnumbered by at least 4,000 men. This was a great victory for Mexico, as they were undersupplied and showed their strategic leadership.

We need as many volunteers to make this event a success! We kickoff with a parade and then the fiesta on Jefferson. Volunteers will have a specified task during the parade and the fiesta.

Breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt will be provided for our volunteers! We can also sign community service hours.
