Ushers Needed for A Chorus Line

A Chorus Line, a musical about 17 Broadway dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line, needs ushers. And, the bonus is ushers get to SEE THE SHOW FOR FREE.

Usher Responsibilities:

  • Arrive one hour prior to the show
  • Attire is business casual (no tennis shoes, T-shirt or jeans)
  • Greet guests with a smile and distribute programs at theater entrance
  • Setup refreshments approximately 20 minutes before show ends and keep items refilled (Note: Ushers will miss the show’s ending to setup)
  • Clean up/put refreshments away after show

  • Friday, May 26, 7-10 pm - (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Saturday, May 27, 7-10 p.m. (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Friday, June 2, 7-10 pm - (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Saturday, June 3, 7-10 pm - (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Sunday, June 4, 7-10 p.m. (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Friday, June 9, 7-10 p.m. (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Saturday, June 10, 7-10 p.m. (Show starts at 8 p.m.) - FILLED
  • Sunday, June 11, 2-5 p.m. (Show starts at 3 p.m.) - FILLED

Students, ages 13 and older, can receive credit toward their volunteer requirement, they just need to bring their form with them. Parents or guardians will be required to sign-in children.

More About the Show

The musical is set on the bare stage of a Broadway theatre during an audition for a musical. A Chorus Line provides a glimpse into the personalities of the performers and the choreographer as they describe the events that have shaped their lives and their decisions to become dancers.

A Chorus Line was conceived and originally directed and choreographed by Michael Bennett with music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Edward Kleban, and the book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante.

Tantallon Community Players (TCP), a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1982 to increase community awareness of the theater in Southern Maryland, through performance opportunities and workshops. To this end, it has helped foster hundreds of individuals with a sense of community and a creative experience that for some has become a lifelong interest in theater.
