Event Description:
The Vista Strawberry Festival was created in 2010 to celebrate Vista history, which was once the unofficial Strawberry Capital of the world. Every year, North County Lifeline hosts a booth in "Strawberry Court" with dozens of other non-profits and schools where we fundraise for Lifeline programs by selling hand-prepped "Strawberry Dessert Nachos." The festival entails live music, contests, prizes, food, beer garden, 300+ vendors, rides, kid's zone, and STRAWBERRIES!
Purpose:
Volunteers are needed to assist North County Lifeline in selling our "Strawberry Dessert Nachos" to help raise awareness and fundraise for Lifeline programs.
General Responsibilities:
- Help with set up (morning shift) and tear down (afternoon shift)
- Assist in prepping and selling Strawberry Dessert Nachos (throughout the event)
- Raising awareness about Lifeline programs through games and activities at booth
Requirements:
- Friendly, patient, helpful demeanor (good customer service skills)
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to handle outside weather - either extreme heat or rain
- Able to lift and carry up to 15lbs
- Minimum age 16, anyone under must be accompanied by an adult
Hours:
- Approximately 16-20 volunteers will be needed throughout the day
- 3-5 volunteers are needed at each shift
- Shifts begin at 6am and end at 6pm
- Shifts: 6am - 9am, 9am - 12pm, 12pm - 3pm, 3pm - 6pm
