Neighborhood Health Source/Fremont Clinic is excited to be part of a neighborhood initiative to beautify 33rd Avenue North (Minneapolis) and to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators, e.g., hummingbirds.
This Saturday, April 29th, Neighborhood HealthSource and Serendripity Spot (coffee shop at 3300 Lyndale) are planting pollinator patches as part of the "33rd Avenue North Grow-Way." Volunteers from the neighborhood, staff and NHS volunteers will meet at 9:30 am at the coffee shop to pick up tools and then will head over to Fremont Clinic. (you can park in the lot here if you want).
We will be putting in 3 "pollinator patches" on the lawn behind the parking lot; we will be planting the raised bed (where the rose bushes are currently) on the south side of the building, and; we will be putting in 3 trees on Fremont Avenue. Depending on the number of volunteers, the project will take 2-3 hours.
Please let me know asap if you can help for any or all of the time. If you do come, please bring gloves (if you can), water bottles and a hat. If you have a favorite shovel or spade, please bring that too.
