You can help empower our next generation and support student entrepreneurial talent and aspiration! We will train volunteers to mentor one of our Young Entrepreneurs as they complete a business plan and prepare to launch their business with Operation HOPE's micro-startup grant. Business Role Models (our mentors) will empower their Young Entrepreneur to find their passions, develop their business ideas, and effectively complete a business plan and grant request. Operation HOPE coordinates every detail of the program including logistics with the school.

Our Business Role Model mentorship program requires a 10-hour commitment from our Young Entrepreneurs and our Business Role Models. Most of our Business Role Models and Young Entrepreneurs meet for 1-2 hours per week during the school day, after school, or on weekends based on both parties' availability. Mentoring sessions will take place at the Young Entrepreneurs' school or a public library near their home.

Volunteers must be able to provide their own transportation.

Terms: A background check is required.

Mission Statement

The mission of Operation HOPE, Inc. (HOPE) is silver rights empowerment, making free enterprise work for everyone. We accomplish this through our work on the ground as the nonprofit private banker for the working poor, the underserved and struggling middle class. We achieve our mission by being the best-in-class provider of financial literacy empowerment for youth, financial capability for communities, and ultimately, financial dignity for all.

Description

Banking on Our Future focuses on keeping the most at risk youth from repeating the cycles of poverty and dispair that has trapped so many in their families and communities by teaching them basic financial literacy, or what we call "the global language of money."

HOPE Business In A Box Academies focuses on inspiring a generation of young people to become future American assets of economic energy, small business and entrepreneurship.
