BUILD Metro DC is using entrepreneurship to ingite the pontential of youth from under-resourced communities and prepel them to high school, college, and career success.

On May 23 rd, we are hosting One Night One BUILD, a celebration of youth entrepreneurship. The evening is filled with events highlighting our students and their successes. See volunteer role below, and RSVP at https://bit.ly/ONOB17volunteer.

  • First Round Judge: First Round Judges will score our 9th grade teams as they pitch their business plans and reflect on lessons learned through their year in BUILD. First Round Judges connect with students, and give meaningful feedback that encourages growth.

Description

BUILD is supporting six LAUSD schools with the delivery of our business and entrepreneurship curriculum. Throughout the school year students will learn design thinking, form business teams, and develop an advanced prototype of a product to sell! BUILD recruiting volunteer business team mentors to support students as they form their business teams. Business team mentors are professional mentors who support and motivate a youth business team, provide recommendations for a company's vision, growth, and goals for the year, and build strong relationships with students. The volunteer commitment entails attending attend 10 class sessions throughout the second semester of the school year, 2 in person, 8 virtually.
