Olive Tree Arts Network is a young nonprofit that is seeking people that are passionate about using creative expression to promote understanding, cooperation and peace in our multi-faith society. We have unique programs, delivered by talented and diverse educators, that bring children of different faiths together in a safe and fun environment of learning. High demand from schools, combined with exciting opportunities to expand the program nationally, have put us on a fast trajectory of growth. We are hoping YOU are the person that can bring strong leadership skills to our working board.
Responsibilities Include: 1. Make a serious commitment to participate actively in Board and committee work. 2. Volunteer for and willingly accept assignments completing them thoroughly and on time. 3. Stay informed about Board and committee matters, prepare well for meetings, and review and comment on minutes and reports. 4. Get to know other Board and committee members and build a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus. 5. Participate in fundraising for the organization. Qualities We Seek In A Board Member: 1. Experience. You will join other passionate members to govern the organization. 2. Time. Board service is a committment that requires approximately 9 board meetings per year and work outside meetings to prepare and execute on goals. 3. Professional Skills. Being responsible for high level governenace requires some basic business skills such as legal, financial, marketing and communication. Don't worry - you don't have to have ALL those things at once! 4. Passion. We are super passionate about the work we do and the impact we have on children's lives. We want board members that can share in that passion and increase our impact! Time Commitment is 2-3 hours per week, sometimes longer depending on how much you take on in a committee role.
