DESCRIPTION

Our Mission: Through the arts, we transform the lives of adults with intellectual disabilities.

HOPE is a Visual and Performing Arts program with a Therapeutic Component for Intellectually Disabled adults (ages 22 and above).

As an Volunteer/Advancement Services Coordinator at HOPE, you will have the amazing opportunity to lift our organization to the next level by sharing our mission, artists and program with donors. A beautiful environment filled with music, art and creativity, HOPE sells itself. Now we need your unique talents to package and deliver these elements to others in order to continue supporting our amazing artists!

POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a VOLUNTEER position. The Volunteer/Advancement Services Coordinator is responsible for resourcing past development opportunities and finding new ones. Applying for Corporate, Foundation, Private and Grant funds, receiving, inputting and sending out thank you's to donors.

This vital, supporting role works closely with The Director and the Executive Assistant in all development and fund raising endeavors,

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must embrace the mission of Hope Center for the Arts
  • Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
  • Have knowledge and experience in fund raising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising.
  • Be a "self-starter" and goal driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls.
  • Be organized and exhibit "follow through" on tasks and goals.
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
  • Must be able to travel to Anaheim
  • Valid CA Diver's License
  • Pass a criminal background investigation
  • Provide evidence of a negative TB Test

JOB DUTIES:

  • Create narratives for HOPE that can be used for various donor solicitations
  • Create and implement strategies for donor development and cultivation which will provide a varied and sustainable funding base.
  • Keep up-to-date on current fundraising programs, practices and procedures
  • Identify new sources of corporate, private, grant and foundation funding.
  • Acknowledgement of all gifts and donations - Creation of Thank You letters.
  • Advanced PC skills and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Donor database experience desirable).
  • Desire to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision - self-motivated & confident
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience.
  • Offer minimum 8 - 10 hours/week.

We are a multi-faceted fine arts program for adults with intellectual disabilities designed to serve individuals showing talent, interest or motivation in the arts. Our teaching staff consists of artists, performers, and creative art therapists who bring a collaborative approach to working with this special population.

HOPE serves adults aged twenty-two years and above with developmental and intellectual disabilities such as, but not limited to: Autism, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Savant Syndrome among many others . We are a multi-faceted visual and performing arts program designed to serve individuals discovering and displaying their talent, interest and motivation within the arts. Our program is excited to offer our artists a variety of classes for everyone to reach their full potential .
