Mission Statement

The Sexual Assault Crisis Service of the YWCA New Britain offers free, confidential services to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones.

Description

We offer assistance to sexual assault survivors and their loved ones. All services offered are confidential and absolutely FREE.

We focus on empowering survivors of sexual assault to make their own decisions. We do not give advice or tell you what to do. We are here to listen without judgment, and to provide a safe and healing environment. We believe all survivors of sexual assault can heal, and are capable of deciding what is right for them.

We address the issue of sexual assault through counseling and advocacy within 46 communities. We provide a 24-hour confidential English and Spanish hotline, staffed by volunteers and staff who are trained and certified in sexual assault crisis intervention and advocacy. We provide bilingual counselors, sign language interpreters, and male counselors upon request.
