We are looking for volunteers that feel called to spend time with patients receiving Hospice care. Our clients are mostly elderly and enjoy conversations, taking walks, watching television, being read to, listening to music, and other companionship activities that will provide comfort to them in their end of life journey. Background checks are required as well as a 2-step TB shot. Both TB shot and background checks are paid for by Ashanti Hospice. If interested please email us at dzimmerman@sunset-communities.org

Ashanti Hospice is a compassionate way of caring for a person through a compliment of services and care that enables them to live the very end of life's journey with the highest quality of life possible. Care focuses on the whole person and centers on comfort. It is care for the dying person and their family - 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Description
Ashanti Hospice & Palliative Care is about providing care to the whole person who has a terminal diagnosis with a prognosis of six months or less. Our hospice team is comprised of doctors, nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains, counselors and trained volunteers. Both the family and hospice team come together to deliver the most holistic care possible. Care elements typically provided are: expert medical care, pain management, sympotm control, massage, bereavement support, homecare supplies and equipment coordination, medication management, and emotional and spiritual support.
Ashanti Hospice provides these services to patients in the following counties in Ohio: Lucas, Wood and Fulton.
