If you’re like us, you’re already getting out to enjoy our beautiful public lands on your days off. So why not use that time to serve as a wilderness steward and help take care of the Owyhee Canyonlands Wilderness Areas?
The Owyhees feature craggy red rock canyons, endless views, sagebrush and bunchgrass from horizon to horizon. The wilderness stewardship program gives you the chance to enjoy this beautiful outdoor setting while making a difference for the wild places we all love. Anybody who is committed to volunteering time to restore, protect and enhance our wilderness can be a wilderness steward. Information collected-like trail conditions, visitor contacts, needs for additional signs and more-will be sent on to our partners at the Bureau of Land Management.
Join us on the porch at our Boise office for an after-work-hours information session. We'll provide the beer and snacks-and you’ll learn what the stewards do, what training is provided, and who else values the wilderness like you do!
