As a mentor to a teen mother, you are a nurturer of possibilities. Your role is to see the gifts and strengths of your mentee and help her and her baby thrive. Approach goals, issues and/or problems of your mentee and her child in a positive light, building on related strengths that your mentee may have demonstrated.
Mentors meet with their teen parent mentee one time per week for approximately 2 hours. Mentors offer friendship, education, and life experience to assist their mentee in achieving her goals. They may help meet educational goals, navigate healthcare system, provide emotional support, teach life or career skills, or help access community resources. Parenting experience preferred but not required

Parent Connection is a parent education and early learning program that Encourages, Strengthens and Supports families throughout the Fox Cities and Oshkosh.
Description
The program offers a variety of services, each designed to ease the transition into parenthood and make parenting less stressful and more enjoyable. Service offerings include Parents as Teachers™ Home Visitation, Family Wellness Workshops, Teen Parent Programs, Dads Programs, and Family Fun Events. Each program offered by Parent Connection is focused on providing family education and promoting positive parenting techniques. You will also find a wealth of parenting and child development information, including our Parent Connection curriculum for parents of children ages 0-2 years, parenting newsletters, upcoming family wellness workshops, a community resource guide for Fox Valley area residents, and more.
