Join CMCERT, a cadre of highly trained volunteers who enable the Manassas community to plan and prepare for situations that may impact their households, neighborhoods, or businesses. Enable the community to become more resilient in the wake of emergencies. You will support operations of the Manassas Fire & Rescue Department and the Manassas Police Department during emergencies and large City events.

You will learn and practice emergency skills acquired through formal training provided by CMCERT and the Manassas Fire & Rescue Department. Training topics include: disaster preparedness, fire suppression, first aid, CPR/AED, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, terrorism, traffic and crowd management, and emergency communications.

You will be on 24/7 call, and may be activated for periods of emergency lasting up to 72 hours. While on duty, you are insured by the City against liability and are eligible for workman's compensation. Duties are strenuous, and may involve the risk of injury.
