Black Star Industries has the mission to build economic development and commerce for and between African people worldwide.

Come be a part of this wonderful effort to bring justice to black people everywhere by volunteering for with the food production for our popular food booth at this year's Maker Faire. We need a whole lot of people to make this fundraiser happen. We will be producing and selling delicious jerk chicken, garlic fries, plantain

First, we will be working out of our commercial kitchen in Emeryville Maker Faire Food Production in our Commercial Kitchen.
We need 5 people per shift for a total of 30 people.
Dates and Shifts:
Thurs. May 4 from 5pm-10pm
Fri. May 5 from 5pm-10pm
Thurs. May 11 from 5pm-10pm
Fri. May 12 from 5pm-10pm
Wed. May 17 from 5pm-10pm
Thurs, May 18 from 5pm-10pm

Then, we will need strong people to help with Maker Faire Set Up on site at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds:
Wed. May 17 from 5pm - 10pm
Thurs. May 18 from 10am to 4pm

Finally at the Maker Faire Booths: We need a total of 108 people for both days and both booths
Saturday, May 20: Shifts are 7am-2pm OR 1pm to 9pm
Sunday, May 21: Shifts are 7am-2pm OR 1pm - 9pm

We will sell our very popular falafel pitas, garden burgers, crab cakes, plantains and garlic fries. Also we will be selling Jamaica (hibiscus and ginger tea) and our fabulous sweet potato and pecan pies! All volunteers get one meal with their shift. Ages 13 up welcome. No experience necessary but we love people who love working with people and food!
