Elfreth's Alley Fete Day - Volunteers Needed - June 3rd, 2017
Elfreth's Alley, America's oldest continuously lived on street, is looking for volunteers to help at it's annual Fete Day, on Saturday afternoon, June 3rd, 2017 from 1-5 pm.
Fete Day is an annual celebration that has been held for over 70 years. It is a street wide celebration that includes many of the private homes on Elfreth's Alley being open to the public for tours. Elfreth's Alley receives hundreds of thousands of visitors every year but very few of them ever get to step inside these 18th Century private homes, except during these special Fete days.
Over a dozen houses will be open and this is where we need help. We need volunteers to help greet visitors into the individual homes and answer any questions they may have. Volunteers will be provided with information on the house they monitor as well as the Alley itself. Volunteer shifts range from 2-4 hours.
This annual event also offers music, demonstrations of 18th century crafts and refreshments and all volunteers will receive free admission to the event to enjoy when their shift is finished.
