Along with offering various types of programs, Hungerford Park Nature Center is home to variety of exotic and barnyard animals. The center is in need of animal care volunteers starting now and going through the end of summer. We are looking for individuals who are self motivated, ambitious, and reliable. Previous animal care experience is not needed but preferred. Individuals need to be willing to work in all different kind of conditions including indoors and outdoors.
Our animal care volunteers help assist the animal care staff with different tasks that are done daily to help our animals stay happy and healthy.
Tasks will include:
- Cleaning pens and waters
- Cleaning cages and holding areas
- Help feed out to all of our exotics and barnyard animals
- Exercise and groom animals
- Any other animal care tasks that are needed for that day
The spring and the summer is when the center starts to get busy and we rely heavily on our volunteers to help us with these tasks. The hours that need to be filled are mornings from 9:30-12:00 and afternoons from 2:30-4:30. These hours are needed Tuesday- Friday. Hours are flexible and we are willing to work with anyone who has any problems with these shifts. If you are interested, apply with the link below and we will get back to you as soon as possible! We thank you for considering volunteering with us!
