Families in our child abuse and neglect program, The Family Relief Nursery (FRN), face many challenges that may make it difficult for them to provide birthday goodies for their children. Your love and creativity in making these birthday bags is sure to put a smile on everyone's face. Come learn about the FRN, get a tour, and help assemble birthday bags. You'll also have the opportunity to use your creative skills and create personalized birthday cards. We ask that volunteers donate at least one item to help offset our costs. Items can include things such as cake mixes, party favors, party invitations, and inexpensive, new toys (under $10) suitable for children aged 6 weeks - 5 years old. We'll provide additional items to complete the bags.
FRN is a prevention/intervention program that helpsto stop the cycle of child abuse & neglect while also providing developmentassessments and a therapeutic nursery/preschool environment for children agessix weeks through five years. The program provides skills training, respitecare, and home visits to assist families in re-establishing a safe, caring homeenvironment.

Since 1896, Volunteers of America Oregon has worked to change lives by promoting self-determination and building strong communities.
