ORGANIZATION: SLO NOOR FOUNDATION A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION

The SLO Noor Foundation is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization that provides high quality free medical, eye, and dental care to uninsured adults regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration, religion or socioeconomic status.Our team of volunteers, including physicians, optometrist, dentists, nurses, phlebotomy techs, and clerical staff serves San Luis Obispo’s uninsured by providing free primary, eye, and specialty care, along with education, outreach and advocacy. . . because no one should go without healthcare. Our free clinics operate solely on donations, grants from private individuals, businesses, civic groups, hospitals, and charitable foundations and fundraisers. Thus, we operate on an all-volunteer staff.


This position will be part of a team responsible for expanding local engagement and partnerships to build our donor relationships at SLO Noor. You will work in tandem with the partnership manager in follow-up and outreach. For example, cultivating a local business relationship would take the form of making sure the individual is informed of fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and various other ways of supporting the work of SLO Noor in the community. We will provide training in best practices.


Position : Fundraising Campaign Assistant


Description:

This a a new formalized volunteer role that will contribute to the sustainability of the SLO Noor Foundation and Clinic, and it's an opportunity to gain professional job experience in the field of development. To be successful in this volunteer staff position, you must excel at communicating, relationship building, and excellent follow-up skills. Your main responsibility would be follow up with local businesses. This position would be a combination of training but also autonomous in some respects with the ability and maturity to work in a service and clinic environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assists in follow up to small business and corporate partnerships.

  • Draft email correspondence.

  • Input contact info into donor database.


Requirements :
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Drive, Mailchimp, databases.

  • Commitment to the values and mission of SLO Noor to provide quality healthcare to the uninsured.

  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Good organization and time management.

  • Detail-oriented.


Start Date : May 1, 2017


Commitment: We are asking for a 6-month commitment for this position 3-5 hours per week. If seeking school credit, this can be adjusted depending on the student’s schedule. This is an unpaid volunteer staff position.

The SLO Noor Foundation is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality free healthcare to uninsured people living within our community. SLO Noor Foundation depends on the involvement of volunteers to who provide a variety of services. Volunteers come from all walks of life, and a broad age range from 18 to retirees, and are all able to supply clients with services that would be difficult to obtain otherwise. Volunteer services cover several broad categories: Foundation Work, Fundraising/Public Awareness, Clinic Work and areas of special expertise.
