  • 14 people are interested

The 5th annual St. Jude Young Professionals Day at the Derby party will be held on Saturday May 6 th, 2017 at Barn and Company Lincoln Park. More than 150 guests will attend in tradition Derby attire. The evening will also include a hat contest and our VIP guests will partake in a private bourbon tasting. We would like to request your help as a volunteer to ensure this event runs smoothly. Please note: Volunteers for this event must be 18 years of age or older.

Technical Team:

This year we are using a registration and raffle touchpad system that our internal IT department created to execute our registration, auction and check out process. This will provide our guests with the best possible experience and help us increase the amount of money we raise for the kids.

Our Need:

We will need 10 volunteers in a number of different capacities including registration, raffle sales, and contest coordinators. Note that all volunteers must be familiar with basic usage of technology.

Volunteer Shift:

The shift will be from 1:00pm-6:30pm

If you are interested in volunteering at the St. Jude Yong Professionals Day at the Derby party, please respond soon as volunteer shifts are filled on a first-come basis.

Mission Statement

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of our founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.

Description

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
