About

Are you tech-saavy? Do you like to help people? The Brownwood Public Library is searching for reliable volunteers who are patience and have the ability to work with learners from a variety of backgrounds.

Computer classes in the community are needed in a wide variety of areas, including:

  • introduction to computers
  • getting started with email
  • learning to use the internet
  • introduction to social networking
  • Online buying and selling
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher

Classes would consist of about 10 adult learners. Many of these are very basic computer skills, but patience is needed! We are working to assemble Powerpoints for use in classes as well as handouts so there would not be a lot of planning ahead needed.

We would prefer to have several people willing to commit to one or more sessions or series of classes throughout the year (depending on the subject, a session might include something like five classes over five weeks covering "Computer Basics").
