Summer Mentoring with First Graduate

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: First Graduate

First Graduate’s middle school team is seeking summer mentors for rising 7 th and 8 th grade students in need of extra support during the summer program.

The commitment would be for one day a week, 1.5 hours, from the week of June 12 through July 14. Mentors will be paired with 2 students, and will grab a snack, tea, or a smoothie from a nearby cafe with each student, one at a time, for ~45 min between 11am-1:30pm. Mentors and students can talk about whatever they find interesting-movies, sports, TV, classes, friends, high school, college, classes, etc. The goal is to strengthen the student’s confidence through a little extra attention, and to give them a positive adult role model with whom they can create a meaningful relationship. If your time is more limited and you can only commit to one student, we can still work with you! Just let us know.

Background checks are required before the start of the program, and First Graduate will reimburse you for the background check as well as student meals/snacks.

To sign up, fill out the volunteer form at firstgraduate.org/volunteer, then get in touch with Sara Bohannon at sbohannon@firstgraduate.org.
