The Community Working Group's flagship project, The Opportunity Center, an affordable apartment complex and community service center adjacent to Town and Country in Palo Alto, is hosting a 10th Birthday party celebration and open house on Saturday, April 29th, from 11:00 to 2:00 pm. Volunteer shifts are available at the Welcome desk, help with directing parking, decorating tables, preparing coffee, keeping food trays fresh, and helping with cleanup.

Community Working Group works in partnership with public and private community organizations to establish affordable homes and enable the provision of beneficial services for very low-income or homeless individuals and families.

Description

Community Working Group (CWG) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit agency dedicated to providing affordable housing and rehabilitative services to families and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness in the Midpeninsula region of the San Francisco Bay Area.

CWG emerged as a community response to homelessness in the area. Its collaborative approach enables the organization to draw upon and leverage community expertise for maximum community benefit. Its flagship project is the Opportunity Center, an affordable apartment complex and community service center designed to help individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness.
