About Good Samaritan Center of Excelsior Springs

Location:

108 S Thompson, EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MO 64024, US

Mission Statement

To prevent hunger and homelessness by providing basic life needs and access to life skills.

Description

Good Samaritan Center provides emergency assistance to residents of Ray and Clay counties in Missouri. We provide food, financial assistance with rent and utility costs, vouchers for gasoline to get to work, and vouchers for our thrift store (for clothing, furniture, and household items).

Our after-school Kids Club program serves local children in grades K-5 with help in homework completion and literacy enrichment activities. Summer Kids Club programs vary each year.

Our transitional housing program serves up to 3 families at a time by providing temporary housing to help displaced families get back on their feet.

Our thrift store merchandise is available at no cost to referred clients and at reasonable prices to the general public. We collaborate with numerous Metro Kansas City area agencies to access other kinds of services for clients such as mental health care, government entitlements, and job readiness skills.
