Join us for the 42nd annual Nature Center at Shaker Lakes Plant Sale on May 11, 2024. Our plant sale includes the area's largest selection of hard-to-find native plants, perennials, edibles, and annuals!

Please help us make the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes Plant Sale a success and get a boost of early spring! Adults and high school students are needed. Groups are encouraged to reach out. T

Volunteer shifts are approximately 3 hours with shifts starting at 8:15 with clean up ending at 4:00pm.

We have a variety of jobs to fill: greeting guests, craft volunteers, confirming orders by writing sales slips, and helping customers to load plants into their cars. Our event is outdoors, rain or shine. Some positions require lifting.

The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes conserves a natural area, connects people with nature, and inspires environmental stewardship.

Description

Founded in 1966, the Nature Center teaches over 10,000 urban school children a year hands-on environmental education. It also produces many programs, workshops and special events throughout the year, and boasts lovely trails that meander through marsh, forest, field, stream and lake habitats.
